Good packaging doesn’t happen by accident. At Complete Packaging, we use CAD technology to make sure every box, carton, and display we design fits your product perfectly and looks exactly the way you imagined it, before anything goes near a production line.
From a quick brief to a fully signed-off, production-ready file, we handle the whole design process in-house, so nothing gets lost in translation.
CAD stands for Computer-Aided Design. In plain terms, it’s the software we use to draw and model your packaging digitally, mapping out every fold, score line, and dimension with precision, so we know it’s going to work properly long before it’s ever made.
It’s transformed the way packaging is designed. Instead of guessing whether something will fold correctly or fit your product snugly, you can see it all on screen first, make changes in minutes, and only move to production once you’re completely happy.
The 2D side of things produces what’s called a dieline, a flat technical drawing that shows every cut, crease, and tab your packaging needs. Think of it as the blueprint. When it goes to the manufacturer, they know exactly how to cut and fold the material, with no ambiguity.
Once we’ve got the dieline, we fold it up into a 3D model on screen. You get to see your packaging from every angle, check that it looks right, and give the green light before any money is spent on tooling or print. If you need to show it to a buyer, a board, or a brand team who aren’t in the room, this is what makes remote sign-off genuinely easy.
CAD packaging is simply packaging that’s been designed using CAD software rather than hand-drawn templates or rough estimates. Every structural detail, the wall thickness, the way the flaps lock, how it opens and closes, is worked out precisely to suit your product’s actual dimensions and weight.
We use it for everything from simple retail cartons to complex structural designs with inserts, display windows, and custom closures. Whatever the sector, the goal is always the same: packaging that works properly, first time, without expensive surprises at the print stage.
We keep things simple. Here’s what working with us actually looks like:
1. Discovery & Brief
We’ll get to know your product, what it weighs, how fragile it is, where it’s being sold, and what you need it to say about your brand. The more you can tell us upfront, the quicker we can get moving.
2. 2D Dieline Creation
Our team draws up a precise dieline built around your product and the material we’re working with. If you need inserts, a window, or a particular type of closure, we’ll factor all of that in from the start.
3. 3D Visualisation
We’ll fold the dieline into a 3D render so you can see the finished article. At this point, we can drop your artwork on too, so you’re not just looking at a blank structure; you’re seeing something close to the real thing.
4. Prototype & Review
If you want to hold it in your hands before signing off, we can produce a physical prototype straight from the CAD file. It’s a great way to make sure everything feels right, and your product actually sits in it the way you want.
5. Production-Ready File
Once you’re happy, we’ll issue the final files to our manufacturing partners. Everything is built to spec, so what you approved is what gets made.

We’re not a design agency you brief and then wait to hear back from. We’re a full packaging operation, design, manufacture, print, and fulfilment all under one roof, which means the CAD files we create go straight into production without being passed around between different suppliers.
